In 2020, the FCC sought comment on and promulgated regulations relating to orbital debris. These regulations move the assessment and mitigation of orbital debris significantly forward. Additionally, regulatory bodies obtained comments and heard from parties concerned about solar reflectivity of satellites. At the same time, SpaceX, OneWeb, and Amazon’s Kuiper expressed interest in addressing these concerns. In fact, SpaceX made significant technological improvements in its satellites to address these concerns. Moreover, Viasat recently filed a letter with the FCC advocating environmental concerns. With the foregoing developments, questions arise as to how the FCC (and, if applicable, other bodies) will regulate the satellite industry in 2021.

How will the final orbital debris regulations address these issues?

Will there be environmental regulations for satellites?

And, how will spectrum allocation occur and be handled in 2021? This webinar will address all of these and more.

These questions will be addressed by Charles Lee Mudd, the founder and principal of Mudd Law Offices. Over the last sixteen years, Mr. Mudd has developed a broad-based practice representing local, national, and international clientele in diverse litigation and transactional matters with offices in Chicago, Houston, and Park City.
