Event Tue 11/16: The Quest for Ubiquitous On Orbit Servicing and Logistics

How will ubiquitous on-orbit servicing and space logistics benefit the space economy? Jon Goff, VP of On-Orbit Servicing at Voyager Space Holdings, will present his vision for these capabilities and what parts Voyager is focusing on.

Jon is an accomplished space technology entrepreneur, with extensive experience in business development and operations, entrepreneurial strategy, aerospace and mechanical engineering, robotics, space architecture, satellite servicing, orbital propellant depots, orbital mechanics, liquid rocket engine development, and suborbital launch vehicle design. In 2004, Jon started his career as a co-founder and Lead Propulsion Engineer at a small start-up called Masten Space Systems, building some of the first successful reusable vertical takeoff-vertical landing rocket vehicles. Subsequently he founded and was CEO of Altius Space Machines, a space robotics and technology startup developing orbital rendezvous and capture robotics, active debris removal, spacecraft mechanism, in-space propellant transfer, satellite servicing, and on-orbit assembly and manufacturing. While there he was instrumental in the development of the DogTag grapple fixture for on-orbit servicing and the MagTag fluid transfer interface for on-orbit refueling. He has made significant contributions to the development of concepts for orbital propellant depots. With the Altius’ acquisition by Voyager Space Holdings, Jon transitioned to become VP of On-Orbit Servicing, where he leads Voyager’s growth in the on-orbit servicing sector and developing on-orbit servicing strategy.

This is part of a continuing series of space entrepreneurship discussion and networking forums presented by NewSpace Chicago and hosted in the Remo virtual environment. We are excited to present a new type of virtual event! One that aims to duplicate the relationship-building aspects of in-person events. We look forward to an interactive networking experience with everyone prior to the speaker’s presentation.
